At EMS we love and celebrate World Book day annually and this year is one of our biggest ever.  Here’s a little flavour of some of the competitions and celebrations that have been going on during the week.

All week we have asked our Year 7 and 8 forms to decorate their form doors – some groups have really gone to town with the decorations and here are some of our favourites from 2020.

In conjunction with the doors, Mrs Lee-Bugby invited Year 7 English Classes to put ‘A Story in a Jar’ – the idea, to decorate a jar to represent a book.  Again, we had many great ideas and here are some of our favourites.

Mrs Healey and Mrs Fox have organised World Book Day tokens for all Year 7 and 8 students.  They have all been given a token today which entitles them to a free book!

The tokens can be redeemed at major retailers such as Tesco, Adsa and WH Smith.  There are may titles to choose from and Mrs Healey has made a dislpay near the LRR which shows off some of them.

And of course, it wouldn’t be World Book Day without our fabulous English Department with Mrs Healey who always love a bit of fancy dress to mark the occasion.  They have gone full out this year and look fantastic.  Well done guys!
