I am writing to invite you to our Year 8 Parents Information Evening which this year will be held on Thursday 5th December commencing at 6.00 p.m. in St Anne’s Hall. As a parent, you will be aware of the regularity of changes in education and whilst many of the basics remain the same it is an opportunity for us to keep you up to date with the requirements and expectations as we work together to maximise the success of all our students.
Our chances of helping them to succeed will be greatly enhanced by a strong partnership with parents and carers where everyone is aware of how we can best assist our young people. The partnership is always at its best when all parties have a solid level of awareness of responsibilities and where good communication exists.
The School and Sixth Form College again recorded excellent results this summer. We continue to be well above local and national averages on the DfE performance tables and our Progress 8 Value-Added score is the best it has ever been. 20% of all grades were graded 7-9 which puts us in the top 20%. We also had 66 grade 9’s which was even better than last year (50).
This success comes about by working together. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your support this year and look forward to seeing you on the night. If you would like, we can also give you a chance to look around the school as well (the grand tour!)
