Firstly, I would like to say thank you for your support during the past few months. The level of engagement from Year 12 has been excellent and we are very proud of the way students have adapted to online learning at this challenging time. We truly appreciate the support from parents and carers to encourage and motivate the students from home.
Recent announcements from the Government regarding the re-opening of schools and colleges mean that we are now in a position to offer some additional face-to-face contact for Year 12 students from the 29th June 2020.
Following the meetings between yourselves, students and tutors, we are proposing to provide another opportunity for students to engage with staff in some academic mentoring. Our vision is that this will help them to consolidate their learning and plan for the coming weeks and months. This will supplement the ongoing online learning.
We will, of course, be taking steps to adhere to current guidelines around social distancing and hygiene. For risk assessment purposes, before attending college students must be confident that they and their household have been paying due regard to the government guidelines around social distancing.
We strongly encourage attendance to these sessions. However, if you believe that your son / daughter should not be involved in this academic mentoring for any reason, for example, if they have pre-existing health conditions, you are a shielding household or if any member of your household is showing COVID-19 symptoms, please email Head of Year 12, Miss Knox on: email@example.com no later than Tuesday 23rd June. This will allow us to factor this into the planning of these sessions.
The timetable and further details will follow shortly.
Take care and stay safe.
