Exciting times for the Football Development Program at EMS, with two of our students receiving trials in professional clubs, while the Year 8 side reached the School’s Cup Final with a 6-2 Victory last week.

The final will be played Hartlepool’s Victoria Park later this year and means the School will now be represented in three Cup finals, with our Year 7 team qualifying for two more in recent weeks.

Theo Naylor has been invited into Sunderland AFC, while teammate Harry Carr is currently on trial with Hartlepool, both for a period of 8 weeks.

Coaches Stuart Brand and Colin Larkin have been extremely impressed with the pair and the group as a whole, with the former saying: “I’m delighted for Theo and Harry as both have been working really hard in training and showing fantastic signs of development throughout the season.

“But it’s not just those lads, but the entire group as well. All the players across the age categories have trained really well recently and done so with a great attitude.

“It’s not just the training though, I’ve been really impressed when we’ve had Nick [Aiston] in to do the Video Analysis sessions with the boys, as they’ve all joined in with the feedback and analysed their own performance.”

Congratulations to Theo, Harry and all the players from everyone here EMS – Keep up the good work.
