Year 11 Information Evening
At the beginning of this most important year in the education of our Year 11 students, I am writing to invite you to our Year 11 Parents Information Evening which this year will be held on Thursday 26th September commencing at 6.00 p.m. in St Anne’s Hall. As a parent you will be aware of the regularity of changes in education and whilst many of the basics remain the same it is an opportunity for us to keep you up to date with the requirements and expectations as we work together to maximise the success of all our students.
Our chances of helping them to succeed will be greatly enhanced by a strong partnership with parents and carers where everyone is aware of how we can best assist our young people. The partnership is always at its best when all parties have a solid level of awareness of responsibilities and where good communication exists.
The School and Sixth Form College again recorded excellent results this summer. We continue to be well above local and national averages on the DfE performance tables and our Progress 8 Value-Added score is the best it has ever been. 20% of all grades were graded 7-9 which puts us in the top 20%. We also had 66 grade 9’s which was even better than last year (50).
This success comes about by working together. This Thursday there will be a variety of pastoral and departmental staff; including Maths, English and Science in attendance. They will be on hand to discuss any issues or concerns you may have and to clarify any of the information which will be given on the night. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your support this year and look forward to seeing you on the night. If you would like we can also give you a chance to look around the school as well (the grand tour!)
