It is normally this time of year we would be bringing you the story of our annual Christmas Concert at St. Hilda’s Church, however, in a change to tradition, on Tuesday 17th December 2019, we decided to hold a Carol Service in the beautiful St. Joseph’s Chuch.

The change made no difference, with many people pouring through the doors to enjoy one of the most popular evenings in our busy calendar of events.

Our Orchestra and various woodwind ensembles performed whilst people arrived at the church before the service began.

After Father Michael and Father Jim opened the service with the lighting of the Christmas Tree, the students of EMS took over with The Chamber Choir and Youth Voices leading the congregation in carols whilst various students delivered readings and scriptures between.

The service was closed with a blessing by Father Michael before the final carol of the evening.

We would like to thank the parishioners of St. Joseph’s for welcoming us and their hospitality whilst we are there.  Thank you to our wonderful Music and Performing Arts department and to Anne-Marie for the organisation of the event and the music.

On behalf of everyone at EMS, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

There’s plenty of pictures from the evening in the Gallery
