On Thursday 11th January we were invited to Mrs. Quinn’s Year 12 Biology lesson were they were having a go at dissecting a lambs heart.

For the students studying the Biology course at EMS6, this lesson is one of the required practicals they must undertake.

After a brief demonstration, they were all given a whole lambs heart and a diagram of the key features they were to identify.

They all then dived into separating into two halves before cutting away fat and making small flags to identify the key features of the organ.

You’ve heard of the expression ‘Pulling on the Heart Strings’ – Head over to the Gallery to actually see them!
