Coinciding with CAFOD Harvest Fast Day on Friday 5th October, all of Year 12 took part in a Conference to launch their ASDAN fundraising projects under the theme “Who is My Neighbour”.

They undertook a variety of tasks through the morning including weighing up statistics on poverty, clips on Social Justice, an image carousel reflecting upon the causes of poverty and a decision corridor.

The second part of the morning involved Margaret Hodgson, a CAFOD volunteer speaking to them about the origins of CAFOD and examples of projects that CAFOD has set up.

The final part of the conference included students taking part in a ‘Refugee’ simulation task where they were taken through a journey of a refugee and the decisions that they are faced with.

CAFOD is the chosen charity of our Sixth Form and we raise money for them throughout the school year.
