Dear Parent/Carer

As we move into the last half term of the academic year we want to let you know what happens with the Parent Pay school meals account balances. 

If your child is leaving EMS in the summer, then we would ask that you manage the balance on your child’s account down to zero prior to them leaving us. Current balances can be viewed in Parent Pay, or by students using the loader machines in the school.

Accounts in Debt

Our cashless catering system is set up to allow students to borrow a small amount of money in order to ensure they can have a meal even if they have just forgotten it, or their account has not been topped up.

There will be some accounts that are therefore currently in debt. Any debt must be repaid by the end of the academic year. This can be done by topping up the account as normal through Parent Pay or by students using the money loading machines located in the school. 

In order to help the administration of the accounts and reduce the need to chase reimbursement of any debt we will remove this overdraft facility for year 11 and year 13 students for the remainder of this academic year.

Accounts in Credit

If you can’t get the balance back down to zero then there are two options.

  • The money can be transferred to a sibling in school
  • The money can be refunded to you.
